Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple

Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple (史上最強の弟子ケンイチ, Shijō Saikyō no Deshi Ken'ichi) is a Japanese manga by Syun Matsuena serialized in the weekly manga magazine Shōnen Sunday.
The first tankōbon was published on August 9, 2002. An anime adaptation by Tokyo Movie Shinsha aired from October 2006 to September 2007.
This manga is a remake of Tatakae! Ryōzanpaku Shijō Saikyō no Deshi (戦え! 梁山泊 史上最強の弟子), which was serialized in the monthly manga magazine Shōnen Sunday Super, publishing five tankōbon between 2000 and 2002.

The individual chapters are being collected and published in tankōbon volumes by Kodansha, with 23 released as of November 2010. An anime produced by A-1 Pictures and Satelight was released in Japan on October 12, 2009. The series follows the adventures of the celestial wizard Lucy Heartfilia after she joins the Fairy Tail guild and teams up with Natsu Dragneel, who is searching for the dragon Igneel.

Fruits Basket

Fruits Basket (フルーツバスケット, Furūtsu Basuketto), sometimes abbreviated Furuba (フルバ), is a shōjo manga series by Natsuki Takaya. It was serialized in the semi-monthly Japanese magazine Hana to Yume, published by Hakusensha, from 1999 to 2006. The series was also adapted into a 26-episode anime series, directed by Akitaro Daichi. The series tells the story of Tohru Honda, an orphan girl who, after meeting Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Sohma, learns that thirteen members of the Sohma family are possessed by the animals of the Chinese zodiac (十二支, Jūnishi) and are cursed to turn into their animal forms if they are embraced by anyone of the opposite sex. (Though at least by the anime it's more of just torso to torso touch that activates it.)

Tiger Mask

Tiger Mask (タイガーマスク, Taigā Masuku) is a Japanese manga series written by Ikki Kajiwara and illustrated by Naoki Tsuji. The series was first published in Kodansha's Bokura Magazine from 1968 to 1969 and was later published in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1970 to 1971. It was later adapted into an anime series by Toei Animation which first aired on Yomiuri TV on October 2, 1969 and ended its run on September 30, 1971, airing 105 episodes. In real life, the name has been used by a succession of Japanese professional wrestling characters as a gimmick. The Tiger Mask persona is instantly recognizable by its trademark mask, designed to look like a tiger's head, as well as the combination of high flying attacks and martial arts in the ring.

The 4th Int’l Manga Award for Xiao Bai’s Si loin et si proche Wins

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan announced the winner and runners-up of its Fourth International Manga Awards (国際漫画賞) on January 12. Chinese creator Xiao Bai won the top award for the graphic novel Si loin et si proche (”So Far, Yet So Close”), which was published in Belgium last year. In the story, a Beijing college freshman named Xiao Tian suddenly meets a boy who calls her “Mother.” The boy, Li Wei, turns out to be her son from the future. Xiao Bai studied illustration and graphic design as a student in Beijing, and this is Xiao Bai’s first full-length graphic novel.

Saiyuki (幻想魔伝最遊記, Gensōmaden Saiyūki) is a manga series by Kazuya Minekura which was serialized in G-Fantasy from 1997 to 2002. The story is loosely based on the famous Chinese novel Journey to the West (XīyóuJì). In 1999 the Saiyuki OVA by Tokyo Kids was released. A year later it was adapted into an anime series by Studio Pierrot. The Gensomaden Saiyuki: Requiem movie appeared in theaters in Japan in 2001. Sunrise to release new hero anime 'Tiger & Bunny' in April

Animation studio Sunrise Inc. will release a new animated TV series, titled "Tiger & Bunny," in April 2011 that has taken the unusual step of allowing real firms to sponsor characters in its storyline.

Sapporo inks promo deal with 'Hatsune Miku' creator Crypton Future Media

Crypton Future Media Inc., developer of the immensely popular singing synthesizer application Hatsune Miku, on Dec. 2 signed a wide-ranging promotional agreement with the city of Sapporo.
The Sapporo-based company will help the city in its promotional campaign, including projects featuring the green-haired idol Hatsume Miku, via networking technology and social media such as video-sharing websites, Twitter and blogs. The deal was celebrated at an event at Sapporo city hall with Crypton CEO Hiroyuki Ito and Sapporo Mayer Fumio Ueda participating.
