Birdy the Mighty

Birdy the Mighty (鉄腕バーディー, Tetsuwan Bādī) is a manga by Masami Yuki, who is best known for producing the long-running series Patlabor. His initial work on the series was quickly abandoned, but it was made into an anime, which was produced and, on the last episode, scripted by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, who is known for anime titles such as Vampire Hunter D, and Ninja Scroll. The character designer and animation director for the series was Kumiko Takahashi. In 2003, Masami Yuki began serializing a second, more ambitious Birdy the Mighty manga in Weekly Young Sunday.

'Tamayura' TV series coming soon

"Tamayura," a four-episode animated series made exclusively for video release, will be remade as a TV series, its creators said at a Tokyo news conference Jan. 22.
Set in the city of Takehara in Hiroshima Prefecture, which faces the Seto Inland Sea, the story follows Fu Sawatari, a first-year senior high school girl who loves taking pictures. The story follows the modest lives of Fu and her friends in the city as Fu photographs ordinary scenes of happiness.

Toriko

Toriko (トリコ, Toriko) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro. At San Diego Comic-Con International 2009, Viz Media announced they had licensed the series for their Shonen Jump imprint. The series made its first premiere in Shonen Jump magazine in the February 2010 edition. Toriko held a three-issue preview in the magazine; where after Viz Media began printing it in volume format. An anime adaptation produced by Toei Animation is currently scheduled to premiere in April 2011 on Fuji Television.

'Usagi Drop' to premiere in July

The long-awaited "Usagi Drop" (Bunny Drop) anime series begins airing on Fuji Television Network Inc.'s "noitaminA" animation block from July, the network said at press preview of its upcoming lineup held in Tokyo earlier this month.

Beelzebub (Manga)

Beelzebub (べるぜバブ, Beruzebabu) is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Ryūhei Tamura that serializes in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. Beelzebub was first published as a one-shot by Tamura in Weekly Shōnen Jump's 2008 volume 37-38, where it won the fourth Gold Future Cup, then it was serialized on the same magazine starting in its thirteenth volume in 2009. An OVA was announced in July 2010. An anime TV series has been confirmed and began airing in Japan from January 9, 2011. All of the OVA cast will return for the TV series.
