The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (時をかける少女, Toki o Kakeru Shōjo) is a 2006 Japanese animated science fiction/romance film. The film focuses on a high school girl who inadvertently gains the power to travel through time and begins using it frivolously to fix problems. It was produced by the animation studio Madhouse and directed by Mamoru Hosoda.

Ao no Exorcist

Ao no Exorcist (青の祓魔師, Ao no Ekusoshisuto), also known as Blue Exorcist, is a manga written and illustrated by Kazue Kato. The manga has been serialized in Jump Square magazine by Shueisha since April 2009, with individual chapters collected into four tankōbon volumes as of July 2, 2010. The one-shot of the manga was first featured in the September 2008 issue of Jump Square and was titled Miyama Ying House Case (深山鶯邸事件). As of March 4, 2011, 24 chapters have been released in Japan.

Performers of theme songs for 'Ao no Exorcist' TV series revealed

Japanese rock group UVERworld will provide the opening theme song for upcoming animated TV series "Ao no Exorcist," while South Korean boy band 2PM will sing the ending theme song.

Natsume's Book of Friends

Natsume's Book of Friends (夏目友人帳, Natsume Yūjinchō) is an ongoing fantasy manga series by Yuki Midorikawa. It began serialization by Hakusensha in the shōjo manga magazine LaLa DX in 2005, before switching to LaLa in 2008. Chapters have been collected in nine bound volumes as of January 2010. The series is about Natsume, an orphaned teenage boy who can see spirits, who inherits from his grandmother the notebook she used to bind spirits under her control. Natsume's Book of Friends was a finalist for the first Manga Taishō award in 2008.

Studio Ghibli Inc.'s new feature film, "Kokurikozaka Kara" (From Kokuriko Hill) will hit movie theaters across the country on July 16.
Directed by Goro Miyazaki, the film will be screened at theaters affiliated with movie production and distribution company Toho Co. A 3-meter-high poster has been put up at those theaters.

'Mega Man' theme of Asiagraph 2011 contest

Asiagraph 2011, an international event focusing on digital content from Asia, is featuring game publisher Capcom Co.'s popular game character Mega Man as the theme for a fan competition in the event's CG Art Gallery.
A special award dedicated to Mega Man will be awarded to the best CG works featuring the character. Entries are being accepted through March 24. A second submission period will be from mid-May to mid-July.

Toei V-Cinema 'Goseiger' episode due out on DVD in June

Although the "Tensou Sentai Goseiger" TV series wrapped up its yearlong run on Feb. 6, the superhero squad will be back in June.
The new episode, "Kaettekita Tensou Sentai Goseiger: Last Epic" (Tensou Sentai Goseiger returns: Last epic), will be released on DVD by the Toei V-Cinema direct-to-video label, Toei Co. said.
The DVD will be available at rental outlets June 10 and for sale June 21.

It featured a production team led by director Koichi Chigira, character designer Range Murata, and production designer Mahiro Maeda. The three had previously worked together in Blue Submarine No. 6, one of the first CG anime series. 'Yurumeitsu' 2nd DVD due out in June

After a two-year wait, the "Yurumeitsu" anime series returns to DVD on June 24, publisher Takeshobo Co. has said.
Filled with humor, "Yurumeitsu" is based on manga artist saxyun's four-frame manga series that runs in Takeshobo's monthly Gekkan Manga Club comic magazine.

Suginami Ward in Tokyo is known as an anime town, where a lot of animation productions and related companies are located. Anime is created in some 400 studios in Japan, and more than 70 of these are concentrated in Suginami Ward, making this area as a true anime town. Located in this anime town, Suginami Animation Museum is not a specified artist named museum such as ‘Ghibli Museum’ (三鷹の森ジブリ美術館,), but as like Japan’s first comprehensive animation museum. It had been originally a public facility of Suginami Ward as a morgue for animation related materials since May in 2003. Then, it was promoted into the Animation Museum on March 5, 2005.

New "Last Exile" series to premiere at Anime Expo 2011 in July

The sequel to the anime TV series "Last Exile" will have its world premiere at Anime Expo 2011 (AX) in the United States in July, according to the anime's official website.

Saint Seiya (聖闘士星矢, Seinto Seiya), also known as Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac or simply Knights of the Zodiac, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masami Kurumada and serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1986 to 1991, and adapted into an anime TV series by Toei Animation from 1986 to 1989.
The story follows five mystical warriors called the "Saints" (or "Knights") who fight wearing sacred armors named "Cloths" , the designs of which derive from the various constellations the characters have adopted as their destined guardian symbols. These Saints have sworn to defend the reincarnation of the Greek goddess Athena in her battle against the other Olympian gods who want to dominate Earth.

Surreal Kyushu shorts due out on DVD

"Pichi Ko Yakyu-bu" (Pichi High School Baseball Club), directed by animator Benpineko, a surreal animated TV series of shorts that was aired exclusively in Kyushu's eight prefectures, including Okinawa Prefecture, are due out on DVD in April.
The DVD will be sold nationwide, giving fans outside the Kyushu region a chance to enjoy the main characters' offbeat, surreal and very habit-forming dialogue.

A social networking game based on the comically surreal full-CG anime series "Usavich" is now available for free download on the Mobage-town mobile game site.
"Usavich Kangoku Raifu: Datsugoku Hen" (Usavich, Prison life: Chapter, Prison break) is a virtual pet game in which the player must take care of two rabbits named Putin and Kirenenko.
The original animated series is an unusual slapstick comedy about Putin and Kirenenko, two inmates of a jail.

2 Pokémon Feature Films to Open on Same Day in July

1st anime franchise with 2 feature-length films opening on same day!
Two feature-length Pokémon anime films will open in Japan on July 16 instead of the usual one feature-length film with an anime short. According to the Nikkan Sports newspaper, this is the first time that two feature-length Japanese animated films from the same franchise have opened on the same day. In addition to the previously announced Gekijōban Pocket Monster Best Wishes! Victini to Kuraki Eiyū Zekrom, there will also be a second feature called Gekijōban Pocket Monster Best Wishes! Victini to Shiraki Eiyū Reshiram. The same theaters will show both films, one after another.

Saint Seiya comes to CG film

Toei Animation confirmed that production on a new computer-animated film of Saint Seiya (聖闘士星矢) has been green-lit. The film will mark the 25th anniversary of Masami Kurumada’s 1986-1990 mythological fantasy manga and Toei’s subsequent 1986-1989 television anime.
Toei first hinted at the project during the Jump Festa event in December. The same teaser video that Toei showed at the event is now streaming from the project’s website. Further details about the project will be announced in the future.
