Voice cast members of 'Usagi Drop' revealed

The two main voices for the much-anticipated animated TV series "Usagi Drop" ("Bunny Drop" in the United States), have been announced: Hiroshi Tsuchida and Ayu Matsuura.
The series is based on the comic of the same name by Yumi Unita, which has about 820,000 copies in print.
A feature film adaptation starring Kenichi Matsuyama is due in cinemas Aug. 20.

Toyota gives virtual idol Hatsune Miku a lift in U.S. debut

Toyota Motor Corp. is featuring virtual singing idol Hatsune Miku in a sales campaign aimed at the U.S. market, a move that is likely to raise the character's profile overseas, the company's U.S. sales arm said.
Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS), which handles sales and marketing for the Toyota, Lexus and Scion brands in the United States, has launched a promotion featuring the computer-generated singer.
The virtual idol was chosen to attract Asian-Americans and fans of anime and manga to the latest Toyota Corolla models.

Hidamari Sketch is a Japanese four-panel comic strip by Ume Aoki revolving around the daily lives of a group of young girls all living in the same apartment where artists gather. It was first serialized in the seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Carat in April 2004, published by Houbunsha.
Yen Press licensed the manga for English language distribution, and released the first volume on May 27, 2008. A 12-episode anime based on the manga under the original title Hidamari Sketch aired in Japan between January and March 2007. Two more special episodes were aired on October 18, 2007. A 13-episode second season entitled Hidamari Sketch × 365 aired in Japan between July and September 2008.

Barefoot Gen (はだしのゲン, Hadashi no Gen) is a Japanese manga series by Keiji Nakazawa. Loosely based on Nakazawa's own experiences as a Hiroshima survivor, the series begins in 1945 in and around Hiroshima, Japan, where the six-year-old boy Gen lives with his family. After Hiroshima is destroyed by atomic bombing, Gen and other survivors are left to deal with the aftermath.
Barefoot Gen ran in several magazines, including Weekly Shōnen Jump, from 1973 to 1985. It was subsequently adapted into three live action film adaptations directed by Tengo Yamada, which were released between 1976 and 1980. Madhouse released two anime films, one in 1983 and one in 1986. In 2007, a live action television drama series adaptation aired in Japan on Fuji TV over two nights, August 10 and 11.

Freezing (フリージング, Furījingu) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Korean manhwa creators Dall-Young Lim and Kwang-Hyun Kim respectively. The manga started serialization in Kill Time Communication's male-oriented Japanese SF/fantasy manga magazine Comic Valkyrie in 2007. The series revolves around an extraterrestrial force called the Nova that are invading Earth, and genetically-engineered girls called Pandoras and their male partners called Limiters are created to combat them.

Ayako (奇子) is the name of a manga trilogy by Osamu Tezuka. It was serialized in Big Comic, a manga magazine published by Shogakukan. It is licensed in North America by Vertical. It is also licensed in France by Delcourt/Akata and in Italy by Hazard Edizioni.
The story is about a post-World War II Japanese family, the Tenge, who have to cope with economic and family tensions while the country is under reconstruction led by General Douglas MacArthur.
