Disney's 'The Secret World of Arrietty': movie review (+trailer)
WickedLocalArts - Posted Feb 17, 2012
(The film 'The Secret World of Arrietty' is a captivating coming-of-age story about Arrietty,
the daughter of tiny people who encounters a big world.)

... "Arrietty" was co-written by Miyazaki and directed by his protégé Hiromasa Yonebayashi. Gary Rydstrom directed the English-language version. The English-language screenplay, in which new dialogue by American voice-over actors had to painstakingly match the mouth movements of the animated characters speaking Japanese, was written by Karey Kirkpatrick. ...

This Means War, Secret World of Arrietty
Connect Savannah - February 18, 2012

When it comes to the twin businesses of sexual politics and romantic revelations, the number of modern-day comedies that have managed to smartly upend all the tired stereotypes and withering clichés is a dismally small one, sporting a losing ratio comparable to that of the 2011 Indianapolis Colts. But “The Secret World of Arrietty,” the latest from the studio founded by the legendary Hayao Miyazaki, sadly suffers from more than a dollop of boredom. Like the ornate dollhouse that plays a part, “Arrietty” is lovely and well-appointed, but filled with only what you bring to it. ...
