'Legend of the Legendary Heroes' anime series to air in South Korea

"The Legend of the Legendary Heroes" animated TV series will hit the airwaves in South Korea from March 16 on KBS1.
The anime series had a six-month run in Japan from July 2010 on TV Tokyo Corp.'s network. It will be broadcast in South Korea just three months after finishing its run in Japan.
KBS1, operated by public broadcaster Korean Broadcasting System, is a core channel for terrestrial broadcasting in South Korea. KBS previously aired "One Piece," "Kirarin Revolution" and other Japanese anime titles.

According to the producers, fantasy anime are very popular in South Korea.
The South Korean version will be produced by the country's CG animation studio SK Independence Inc.
To make full use of the broadcasting network and suit the local audience, a few alterations will be made to the anime. In addition to dialogue by South Korean voice actors and actresses, the opening and ending sequences will be recreated by artists from the country.

The Legend of the Legendary Heroes Episode 1

"The Legend of the Legendary Heroes" is based on a light novel series for teenagers of the same title written by Takaya Kagami and published by Fujimi Shobo Co. since 2002.
Set in the magical kingdom of Roland Empire, the story centers around three main characters: Ryner Lute, a young sorcerer who is extremely lazy and unmotivated, King Sion Astal of Roland and Ferris Eris, a girl from a clan of swordsmen.

At the command of the young king, Ryner sets out to search for the relics of a "Legendary Hero." Ferris is assigned to accompany him.
Itsuro Kawasaki, best known for the "Sengoku Basara" and "Chrome Shelled Regios" animated TV series, directed the original Japanese version of "The Legend of the Legendary Heroes."
"Linebarrels of Iron" scriptwriter Kiyoko Yoshimura handled the overall story composition. Noriko Shimazawa was character designer for the series, produced by anime studio Zexcs Inc.
