New "Last Exile" series to premiere at Anime Expo 2011 in July
The sequel to the anime TV series "Last Exile" will have its world premiere at Anime Expo 2011 (AX) in the United States in July, according to the anime's official website.
"Last Exile -Ginyoku no Famu-" (Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing) will be showcased at the event running July 1-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the website reported.

It was recently announced that the "Last Exile" series would make a comeback with a new season. The original "Last Exile" series was popular outside Japan, especially in the United States.
The AX debut will help promote the new series in the United States, as well as gain momentum for releases in other countries.

AX is North America's largest fan convention exclusively dedicated to Japanese anime and manga, drawing at least 100,000 people.
The organizer, the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA), has declared 2011 the "Year of the Fan." It is also the event's 20th anniversary.
The SPJA says this year's AX will invite many guests from Japan's anime, manga, music, fashion and other industries.
The world premiere of "Last Exile" is just one of the many highlights at this year's convention.

The original "Last Exile" series, meanwhile, is drawing renewed attention. To commemorate the new series, the first episode of the show is available for free online streaming on Bandai Channel and ShowTime websites.
