YOKOHAMA--The Yokohama city government's Culture and Tourism Bureau and the Yokohama City Guide Association joined hands to launch guided tours from July 18 inspired by the animated film "Kokurikozaka Kara" (From Kokuriko Hill), officials said.
The latest movie from Studio Ghibli Inc., whose story is set in the port city, was released at theaters on July 16.
There are four guided tour programs that take participants to various city spots related to "Kokurikozaka Kara." The participants can experience the anime's world, the officials said.

The city officials are gearing up to jointly promote the anime closely associated with the city.
An official guide map for the tours is now available at public offices, bookstores, hotels and elsewhere across the city.
The participants can also stamp their guide maps with specially designed rubber stamps at several locations. A special gift will be given to the first 10,000 people who collect at least five of eight stamp imprints.

They are also eligible for a lottery drawing to win tickets for a concert featuring Aoi Teshima, who sings the main theme of the anime. The tickets are limited to 25 pairs, and the concert will take place on Aug. 21.
The guided tours are also part of the city's efforts to promote itself and the movie.
One of the tours will take participants to the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Nippon-Maru Memorial Park and elsewhere to feature Yokohama as a historical port city.

The other tour will visit the Yamate 234 Bankan Western-style house and the Harbor View Park, while another will highlight Hotel New Grand and Yamashita Park.
Lastly, there is a tour that includes a lecture at the Yokohama Archives of History to give a brief look into the nostalgic side of the city.
All the tours will be held rain or shine, with each priced at 500 yen ($6.30). There will be additional charges for admission to the Yokohama Archives of History, which will be 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for elementary and junior high school students.
